Lithographic print was how it all started back in 1993 – hence the ‘litho’ in KMS Litho. This still represents the bulk of our print and is most suited to print runs exceeding 500 or where critical matching of pantone colours are crucial.
Examples of typical lithographic print projects include stationery sets and business cards, company brochures, direct mail flyers, corporate folders and ‘cut to shape’ products for retail packaging.
KMS Litho is extremely proud of its lithographic print experience and clients come to us for this expertise and know-how of working with pantone inks and litho press plates.
Digital print has become increasingly popular in recent years and we’ve invested in the technology to be able to offer a full range of digital print services when you only need a low run of copies – maybe for a special occasion or a one-day event?
Digital printing great for small, short-run print items where you typically only need a few copies (usually less than 500). With a quicker set up process than litho printing, the lead time is less, which is great for your urgent projects and it also lends itself well to personalisation on jobs such as corporate gifts and invitations.
The downside to digital printing is you can’t specify an exact colour match to a specific pantone reference number as you can with lithographic print and print purists amongst us will also choose litho over digital!
Giclée Fine Art Printing
Giclée fine art reproduction prints (pronounced ‘gee-clay’) are extremely high quality, digital prints that use an ultra fine inkjet printing process to produce images of intense colour and vibrancy. Our giclée printing is popular with artists and photographers displaying their work in art galleries, museums and exhibitions.
At KMS we’ve been producing Giclee fine art reproduction prints for many years and we’re one of only a few printers with this expertise and technology. Giclee prints are ideal for your reproduction prints of paintings as we scan from your original artworks wherever possible as this will give a first generation reproduction. We can also advise you on the best papers and boards for each individual application and we always use lightfast inks, which are resistant to the destructive action of light.
The real beauty of our Giclee service is that you only need to print exactly how many you need as we store your scanned artwork on file for future call offs as and when you need more. Perfect for one-off specialist prints when you are selling your work.
Duplex & Triplexing Business Cards
Make your business cards really stand out from the crowd with duplexing or triplexing. Duplexing is where we adhere two different stocks together to add weight, thickness and varying coloured edges to your business cards.
So you could choose a coloured board and adhere it to a white board for a duplex finish or why not go for triplexing where three different boards are stuck together. This can create a really impressive ‘sandwich’ effect to your business card, especially if you select a contrasting coloured board as the middle piece.
But why stop there, you can quadplex with four types of board or consider adding additional finishes such as embossing, foil, die cut shapes and so on. The opportunities to impress are endless.
Investing in the quality of your business cards to make the right impression is vital. Why not request some samples of recent duplexed or triplexed business cards we’ve printed to see what impression yours could make?
